Kurzfassung:

This work addresses engineers and scientists who work in the field of analog circuit layout. It deals with the automation of layout design while considering the layout constraints. Nowadays, layout design of analog circuits is often a manual and timeconsuming trial and error task. It suffers from a lack of automation due to the multitude of complex design constraints. To overcome this bottleneck in the design process, a new analog layout design methodology has been developed. The resulting comprehensive constraintdriven methodology considers and verifies the layout constraints by transforming them between the different design domains. It allows verification of whether a solution that satisfies all constraints exists prior to the time consuming optimization process. The approach was implemented and tested successfully in an industrial design environment for the layout of analog and mixedsignal circuits.
